Here's where the rubber meets the road.
You are a beautiful, valuable person. You, like everyone else you've ever known are guilty but it doesn't diminish your value. Whether you feel dirty, alone, unworthy, ashamed or some other combination or emotions, it doesn't matter. Yes, you are or have been guilty but that's not the end of the story. You are a wonderful person. You may have done heinous things. You may have wronged one or one thousand but the reality is that you deserve forgiveness.
I believe in payment for guilt but I think grace can be a powerful factor in anyone's life. I've experienced it and know the gratitude it creates; a sense of fresh, clean, unhampered living.
Whatever you've done, you should know that it was wrong but that doesn't mean you cannot be forgiven. It may be that the person you wronged chooses to not forgive you; that is the reality of relationships. It may be that the government puts you in prison; that's the nature of society. Those experiences do not diminish the value of you. You are worthy. Take a deep breath, let the negative feelings fall away. Don't deny the nature of being guilty but don't let the negative feelings destroy you. Look people in the eye and accept that we're all flawed and you are as valuable as anyone else.
